Cellist Alisha Bauer is an active performing, recording and teaching artist in both classical and popular music settings. After graduating from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, Ms. Bauer continued her music studies under a full scholarship at UCLA where she received her Master of Music degree in Cello Performance.
Chamber music has been a staple in Ms. Bauer's performance career. As the cellist and co-founder of the Alcantara Ensemble, she has been a semi-finalist and finalist in the Fischoff and Coleman International Chamber Music Competitions respectively, and a MTNA Regional Chamber Music Competition representative. Ms. Bauer has appeared as a guest artist for chamber music series programs presented by Chapman University, Azusa Pacific University, Los Angeles City College, Dana Point Coastal Arts, Torrance Cultural Arts, The Previews of Manhattan Beach, South Bay Chamber Music Society and the Banff Summer Residency Series where she was featured in a live CBC radio performance broadcast.
As a teaching artist, Ms. Bauer joined the Los Angeles City College music department in 2008 and the El Camino College music department in 2014. Her successful private cello studio has produced many fine cellists who have been accepted into esteemed music programs such as the Heifetz International Music Institute, Montecito Music Festival, Cal Arts, San Francisco Conservatory and UCLA.
Ms. Bauer has become a highly sought after cellist by the television and recording industries. Along with performing in chamber orchestras for television and film soundtracks, she is also a regular solo recording artist for organizations that specialize in producing music for advertising media.
