Francine Jacobs

 

Francine Jacobs

Francine Jacobs is currently Principal Flutist with the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, and Opera Santa Barbara. She has played with the Rochester Philharmonic, and has been a substitute with the St. Louis, Chicago, and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras.


An active teacher, she has been the flute instructor at Pepperdine University, Idyllwild Music Camp, Valparaiso University and the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival.  She is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California, and her students have been winners in Bach Festivals, Young Artist Guild, and VOCE.

Francine received her Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and the Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. Her teachers include Walfrid Kujala, James Pellerite, Joseph Mariano, Jim Walker and Julius Baker.
