Jacob Braun

 

Jacob BraunA native of the Boston area, Jacob Braun serves on the faculty of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Chapman University and The Colburn Community School of Performing Arts. Mr. Braun now resides in downtown Los Angeles, leading a busy and rewarding musical life. Mr. Braun performs often as recitalist and chamber musician and is sought after as a recording musician and teacher.

As a founding member of the Biava String Quartet, Mr. Braun won the 2003 Naumburg Chamber Music Award and the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. The Biava Quartet performed at Carnegie hall, Jordan Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall and The Library of Congress, as well as concert tours to Europe and Asia.

Mr. Braun has performed at various music festivals including the Amsterdam Biennale Cello Congress, La Jolla Summerfest, Cleveland Chamberfest, The Innsbrook Institute, Maui Classical Music Festival, Center Stage Strings and The Montecito International Music Festival. Mr. Braun has appeared live on BBC Radio 3, WFMT (Chicago), CBC Radio Canada and KUSC (Los Angeles).
