ASA Trio

The ASA Trio, pianist Sterling Tran, violinist Audrey Lee, and cellist Alex Hwang, is a distinguished chamber ensemble sharing their musical chemistry.

16 year old Sterling Tran is a junior in the Pianist Program at the Orange County School of the Arts, where he studies under Dr. Sarkis Baltaian. 15 year old Audrey Lee began violin studies at age five and has since received numerous awards in local and state competitions. Alex Hwang, 16, is a cellist from Irvine, California who began studying the instrument in the third grade. He currently studies with Benjamin Lash and serves as co–principal cellist in both the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Orange County School of the Arts Symphony Orchestra.

The individual members of the ASA Trio have performed extensively in solo, chamber, and concerto settings across North America, Europe, and Asia. They also have been involved in many local community organizations and collaborated with dancers, poets and varieties of chamber ensembles including GMCO, MTME, Smile Train, Love in Music, and more.

Since their initial collaboration in 2024 through Junior Chamber Music, they have developed a strong musical bond and have earned first place in both the MTAC VOCE State Competition and the Junior Chamber Competition. This year, they have been selected as debut performers for Junior Chamber Music.
