Dr. Susan Boettger founded Junior Chamber Music in 2002 to give young musicians the experience of making chamber music at a high level while building the listening, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills that come with playing in an ensemble.

A pianist, professor, and chamber musician, Susan serves as Professor of Piano and Chamber Music and Piano Area Coordinator at Irvine Valley College, where she also leads the Keyboard & Chamber Music Series and created the college’s Piano Pedagogy Certificate.

As a performer, she has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician, premiered new works with the New Juilliard Ensemble, and performed concertos with orchestras throughout Southern California. She holds a DMA in Piano Performance from USC, an MM from The Juilliard School, and degrees in Piano Performance and Mathematics from Rice University.

Through JCM, Susan has helped build a community where young musicians can grow artistically, form lasting friendships, perform internationally, and discover the joy of making music together.
