Eunnoia Duo: Lydia Kang, clarinet and Bethany Kim, piano

Eunnoia Duo

Lydia Kang, 17, is a clarinetist who has been an active member of JCM since 2022. She has studied for the past five years under Boyeun Suh Yoshimi and has earned top prizes in numerous competitions. Lydia has also been selected National Youth Orchestra of the USA (NYO-USA) for two consecutive years.

Beyond music, Lydia captains her varsity basketball team and is an avid equestrian, volunteering her time to provide therapeutic riding sessions at a local ranch.

Bethany Kim is a high school senior with a deep passion for chamber music. Since joining JCM as a classical pianist in 2022, she has studied under Dr. Judy Huang and built a rich, multifaceted musical life spanning genres, international stages, and intimate recital halls. In her role as a JCMSSA board member, Bethany is committed to making music accessible to all — bringing live performances to those who are unable to attend traditional concerts, including residents of nursing homes and care facilities. She has a particular fondness for unearthing overlooked repertoire — among her all-time favorite chamber works is Walter Rabl’s Quartet for Piano, Violin, Clarinet, and Cello, a hidden gem she delights in bringing to new audiences.
