Pasha Tseitlin
Pasha Tseitlin made his solo debut at age 9 performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at the California Center for the Arts. He has since appeared as soloist with orchestras including the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5), the Ryazan Philharmonic (Glazunov Violin Concerto), the La Jolla Symphony (Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 1 and Berg Violin Concerto), and the San Diego Symphony (Paganini’s Perpetuo Mobile). Barbara Kraft of Time Magazine praised his performances as “cliff-hanging...crackling with visceral energy.” He made his television debut with vocalist Lizz Wright in a PBS nationally aired tribute to Ella Fitzgerald.
A founding member of the Calidore String Quartet, he triumphed with the ensemble to win the 2011 Grand Prize and Gold Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. He has collaborated with world-class artists including Itzhak Perlman, John Williams, Arnold Steinhardt, Midori, Stevie Wonder, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, and many others.
Deeply committed to education, Pasha teaches at the California Institute of Music in San Diego, where he teaches violin, viola, and chamber music alongside his parents, Michael and Irina Tseitlin. Many of his students have won top state and national prizes in numerous competitions. They attend the top music schools in the country and abroad. Pasha has taught at numerous festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, Idyllwild Music Festival, and International Music Festivals in Portugal, Germany, and Spain. He will be teaching and performing at the International Music Festival in Burgos, Spain, in July this summer.
